This is a new year day of the Tamang community, falls on the Basanta Panchami of Manjushri Lunar Calendar based on the Nature worship, celebrated throughout the State. The festival starts in the morning with worship of gods and goddesses of Buddhist pantheon and offering freshly collected water. The Tamangs wear new clothes. Relatives and family members come to visit the elders. They go house to house and spread the message of goodwill and friendship among the neighbors. They organize celebration in the Tamang Gumpas. The cultural programmers are also arranged for entertainment purpose.
