Siliguri is the heart of North Bengal, Siliguri spreads over 835 Sq km, and has the population around 8,15,851, and is the growing metropolis in the Indian state of West Bengal, which falls under the Darjeeling district jurisdiction. Siliguri is situated at the base of the Himalaya mountains in the plains, because of its the unprecedented geographic location, Siliguri has become the main hub of transportation for Sikkim, Nepal and Bhutan. NJP (New jalpaiguri) railway station, Bagdogra airport are all centered here. Gangtok is maximum 4 hour drive from here. The various divisions of Indian army such as Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Shashatra Seema Bal (SSB) and the Assam Rifles have bases around the town.

  • Kalchakra Monastery - This monastery was inaugurated by His Holyness Dalai Lama himself, on the event of Kalchakra ceremony in 1996.

Apart from being just busy urban, Siliguri also features numerous the zone of attractions.

  • North Bengal Science Centre : Just 5 km away, NBSC contains various scientific object such as nature interpretation centre, information on various flora and fauna.
