Don't know about hidden harmful sites insides..lolz
but wud like to share an information: from the WNS blog written by Mr. Ujjwal Majumder on 1/18/2009 "Next time you do a Google search or see a web page, think about its impact on the environment" Performing two Google searches from a desktop computer can generate about the same amount of carbon dioxide as boiling a kettle for a cup of tea. This is according to a new research by Alex Wissner-Gross, a Harvard University physicist. Wissner-Gross has also calculated the CO2 emissions caused by individual use of the internet. His research indicates that viewing a simple web page generates about 0.02g of CO2 per second. This rises tenfold to about 0.2g of CO2 a second when viewing a website with complex images, animations or videos. Shocked!? Wait there is more. Nicholas Carr, author of The Big Switch, Rewiring the World, has calculated that maintaining a character (known as an avatar) in the Second Life virtual reality game, requires 1,752 kilowatt hours of electricity per year. That is almost as much used by the average Brazilian. At the beginning of last year, WNS announced our goal to become a carbon neutral company. The program called Green Lean Sigma is a company-wide initiative that leverages Six Sigma, LEAN and ISO methodologies to redesign our processes to make them more energy efficient. We are also sensitizing employees to their impact on the environment. We have already seen some remarkable benefits from our Green Lean Sigma projects. For example by using energy savers in lighting circuits, Variable Frequency Drives in air handling units and other measures we have reduced our annual energy consumption by over 50%. Also by encouraging employees to commute to office using company provided buses rather than individual vehicles we have helped reduce fuel consumption by 28%. So today, when you are at home or at your workplace thinking of switching on your laptop for surfing the Internet, please think about its impact on the environment. _________________ Whatevr makes u happy! |

If Google had a black screen,
taking in Account the huge number of page views, according to calculations, 750 mega watts/hour per year would be saved..!!!!! ! In response, Google created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version, but obviously with lower energy consumption: Help spread the word? Please use http://www.blackle. com/ _________________ Whatevr makes u happy! |
