3 things you do not like in Sikkim

We all are proud of Sikkim, we love being Sikkimese, we talk about it, hell yeah we spread the message., If you are not from Sikkim, but you are reading this discussion, I guess you must be related to the State one way or another..

Sikkim is small and beautiful. But have you ever realized the darker side of it? when you go out on the open, what do you see? there are things that effect our daily life. Hospitals, offices, schools, police, people
what are the three things you don't like here in Sikkim...? and the reason.

when i was in school,i used to come across a very famous opinion among commoners,--" cbse schools are better and tougher than icse school....",i hate that nuisance....

and ya i dnt like the attitude of the youths of sikkim....i too am a youth.....i hate the neglecting attitude of sikkim youths....they have time for the latest hollyhood or bollyhood buzz ..but no time for sikkim's history..just ask any young guy or gal in college abt article 371(F)..they say," m not gud in civics" wat a joke.....ask them the name of His Majesty the last LATE CHOGYAL.....they are gona surely say Sir Tashi Namgyal...thats their seriousness and luv for sikkim....god help us...aachulay

hey hey hey..Mr. Elderly Administrator..is doesnt suit u to ask me that hehhee........i dnt knw abt others ...but as far as i am concerned.......Sikkim's history and culture is my identity........without history and culture even the name "SIKKIM" has no value or importance at all..tc...aachulay

no, i am just thinking, people have different interests and views , some of them just hate subject history, whether it's about sikkim or any other history..and they do care about Sikkim, but may be in some other way.. ??

So it is me to speak what i don't like in Sikkim

3. We lack competitive skills. (because ghus-khori chalta hai) We believe we can get jobs and certificates through gifts and sifarish.

2. We (the Sikkimese) do not have our original identity. From fashion, style, talks (all that US English accents especially), and everything....we are a copier.

1. I feel very sorry and sad for those majority of people who goes for further studies outside our Sikkim and never returns back. They believe they do not have scope in Sikkim. If every educated and intelligent individuals like them have that attitude, i am sure our Sikkim shall never rise in the world map..but who cares?

I hate people complain about nepotism, we fail to acknowldge that the other person may be better than us. And so every failure is associated with not our weakness but with other persons "Contacts" , because of which , we become moaning losers and don't try to improve ourselves.

I hate the fact that people always claim that they have been "Victimised", and so transfered. My dear fellow Sikkimese, once you take on a governemnt job, you should be ready to work any where in the state, so where does being victimsed come into play.

I hate the state of primary education in Sikkim or lets say India. Its the most important period in a child's life, the future is shaped by this phase, but no attention is given to it. It requires specialised teachers, but where are they?

I hate the fact that we are so passive. I'm not saying we should be violent, but we should raise our voice when required. We are very selfish, and don't look at the bigger picture. There is no citizen's forum.

I hate the fact that people don't understand littering, and spitting everywhere is wrong, we are a civilised society, but we behave like uncivilised morons.

he he he.. good point, it's always a pleasure to know feelings of people towards the state! and it's a good thing, we should do it often..!
well one bad thing I heard about capital Gangtok in some social bookmarking site is..
"Darjeeling and Gangtok is really Boring, thank god we now live in City!" I ain't gonna reveal the link, but it came from a modestly hill girl who now live in Newyork.. what you guys have to say about that? do you think this kind of expressions suits from mouth of a....hill girl?
